How to garden in raised beds (morning class)

Join renowned horticulturist and author David Hurrion for an illustrated presentation about gardening in raised beds

Learn how raised beds can help you and your garden thrive. David will draw on decades of experience and his engaging and definitive title, The Raised Bed Book.

David will show you how raised beds can transform the way you garden, offering improved soil structure, better drainage, easier access and remarkable productivity even in the trickiest of plots.

Through fascinating imagery and clear explanation, he’ll explore the rich global heritage of raised-bed growing – from Hügelkultur mounds to straw-bale systems and ingenious African keyhole beds – demonstrating just how adaptable, sustainable and creative these methods can be.

He will also share advice on planning, building, and designing raised beds for beauty and efficiency. Packed with planting ideas, seasonal guidance and illustrated examples this presentation is perfect for anyone eager to help both themselves and their garden flourish.
